ORLANDO, Fla. (September 20, 2020) – The Daisy Morales campaign announced today that the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida Political Committee has endorsed Supervisor Morales for State Representative of House District 48.
“Your willingness to serve your [Florida] House District 48 means you care about the people,” wrote DWCF Political Committee Chair Nancy Lee Hurlbert to Morales in a statement. “You are going even further; you are demonstrating your desire to do something about the state of affairs around you.”
Morales has participated in events with DWCF before, most recently the “Caravan for Joe” event in which women candidates and organizations drove in a caravan to galvanize support for Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
“It’s great to receive the DWCF Political Committee’s endorsement,” said Morales. “We all want a better quality of life for all Floridians–affordable healthcare and housing, and a stronger economy–and we know the best way to get there is for all of us to vote. We’ve already been putting in the work together to make that happen.”
After winning the Florida Democratic primary, Morales has racked up endorsements from the top-ranking Democrats in the Florida House of Representatives, Co-Leaders Bobby Dubose (D-District 94, Fort Lauderdale) and Evan Jenne (D-District 99, Dania Beach), and most recently added endorsements from Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried, Congressman Darren Soto, and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the nation’s largest workers union.
During the primary election, Representatives John Cortes (D-District 43, Kissimmee) and Bruce Antone (D-District 46, Orlando) also endorsed her for Florida House District 48.
The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
The campaign will continue to announce more major endorsements soon.
