Press Release: Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried Endorses Daisy Morales for Florida House District 48

ORLANDO, Fla. (September 16, 2020) – The Daisy Morales campaign continues to build momentum as today it announced the endorsement of Florida’s top Democrat and Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, Nikki Fried, in her bid to become the next State Representative of House District 48.

“As Orange Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor, Daisy Morales has a proven track record of fighting for sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation,” said Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried. “I’ve seen firsthand her relentless drive to work with my office, Florida lawmakers and other elected officials on life-changing issues that matter to the Latino community and all Floridians. I’m confident that she’ll continue to work hard to improve public safety, strengthen our education system, address income inequality, and fight for affordable housing and healthcare. I’m proud to endorse Daisy for Florida House District 48 and look forward to working with her in Tallahassee.”

“Our campaign is all about people power,” Supervisor Morales said. “I’m thrilled to have the endorsement of the only Democratic member of Florida’s Cabinet, Commissioner Fried. We share the same commitment to sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation, especially with Floridian lives being turned upside down by COVID-19. I’m honored to have not just Commissioner Fried’s endorsement, but also her ideas and her financial support for my campaign. She understands the value of the Latino community and the importance of recognizing the achievements by Hispanics during Hispanic Heritage Month. I look forward to working closely with the Commissioner in Tallahassee.”

After winning the Florida Democratic primary, Morales has earned the endorsements from the top-ranking Democrats in the Florida House of Representatives, Co-Leaders Bobby Dubose (D-District 94, Fort Lauderdale) and Evan Jenne (D-District 99, Dania Beach).

During the primary election, Representatives John Cortes (D-District 43, Kissimmee) and Bruce Antone (D-District 46, Orlando) also endorsed her for Florida House District 48.

The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

The campaign will announce more major endorsements this week.
